Hello Patsy,
It might have been as well to start a new thread rather than resurrect this one which is more than 5 years old. The handbrakes which operate on disc brakes are rarely as good as those that operate on drums. I would never leave our 206cc on a hill without it being in gear with the wheels turned in towards the kerb. As they cool, disc based handbrakes tend to let go. It's simple physics.
