I used Rain-X on my last car rear window and I never had a problem with it melting. I hardly needed to use the rear window wiper.
Worked like a dream.

Burge, it was me who posted about melting on heated screens. I posted about FRONT heated screens on Fords, My recent post on this subject said it was GREAT and to go and use it.

Just Rain-X'd the windows, cracking stuff, especialy on the rear window, keeps it relatively clear.

I'll see how long it lasts before it needs re-applying, and report back.

Interested in the comments on this product. I bought a twin bottle pack approx 3 months ago and find that it needs regular application every 3/4 weeks to get the best performance. I paid 2.95 plus vat from JTF Wholesale in Lincoln. Makes the additional treatments a bit more affordable but certainly worthwhile.

I couldn't believe how good rain-x is until I've used it. Great product. Certainly works for me. Now I need to find a great polisher or wax. Any suggestions

I always recommend Autoglym http://www.autoglym.co.uk .

Not the cheapest but you get what you oay for (and it takes no effort)

TZAG tried to find one but no luck. Then I gathered some other goodies I wanted and ordered all from UK (including Rain-X).

Just before I have a go I thought I would check here. Is the concensus that it is safe to use Rain-X on the rear window?

I am planning to put it on the front but just wanted to check about the rear.

Rain-X is safe to use on the rear screen.

The only screen you should NEVER use it on is a Ford heated front screen. This is because they get a LOT hotter and quicker than a rear screen and the stuff melts and sticks to your wiper blades. As I found out in a Puma :sad: and you cant see anything then.

Highly recommended for Pugs though.
