Re: Cambelt question
It was £260.00 in the end with the Peugeot dealer parts. Neither the mechanic or his suppliers could understand why the water pump he fitted first didn't agree with my car but at least I'm happy with the end result.
Now: Audi TT Mk1 1.8T quattro (225)
Then: Peugeot 206cc 2.0 (Black/Silver special edition)

Still sounds very reasonable. Glad they sorted it out without much hassle.Chushpie wrote:It was £260.00 in the end with the Peugeot dealer parts. Re: Cambelt question
So am I.
It helped that I can more or less see the garage from my drive so hadn't far to go with it, plus I can walk to work if need be so it didn't really matter if I was without the car.

Re: Cambelt question
Hi.
I have a 54 plate 1600 that has done 55,000 miles. Would you recommend a cambelt change?
How many years or miles is it usually recommended?
Many thanks.

Re: Cambelt question
Should be ok up to 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes soonest. (For a 1.6 that is).

Re: Cambelt question
Yours is a 2.0 litre, and better to play safe rather than leave it too late. I think the recommendation for the 2 litre is 80,000 or 8 years but I don't think I'd risk it much beyond 60,000 miles or 6 years if I had a 2.0 litre.aaronwillis wrote:I done both my pump and belt at 45,000
