Further to the posting regarding my suspension, the visit to the garage where I purchased has been fruitful.
Investigation has revealed several items for replacement: Drop Links, Roll-bar bushes, track rod ends etc etc.
She's booked in for next Thursday and it's all on warranty thank goodness. Somewhat surprised how this was missed when the car was checked over prior to my pruchase and the Mot. I have asked for genuine Peugeot replacement parts not alternative makes.
Life never ceases to amaze!
That is all.

Hi Rob, yes had an excellent drive on Sunday, top down ofcourse and averaged 41.3mpg which ain't bad!
Had a total of 16 folk from my car club on the excursion.
Glad to hear you had a cultural and educational day while I was playing rounders, flying kites, making sandcastles, taking in a few rays, eating fish & chips, and generally relaxing.
All the best Rob
regards
Rick

Further to my posting re my 206cc's suspension clonking, car returned from garage today with several new bits, drop links, a/rb bushes etc etc. To cut a long story short, there is still some 'clonking' however it's not as bad as before (sigh of relief). According to the techies at the garage, the suspension leg lower bushes need replacing.
Visually they're okay but to sort the clonk completely they need to be changed.
Okay, the work done today is on warranty (Took them 8 hours). Replacing the additional bits as suggested isn't covered according to the warranty company 'Mondial' who handle used car warranties for vehicles sold through SEAT dealerships. The reason they gave is: "This should have been spotted during the '102 point safety check' and therefore cannot be covered" Garage informed me that they had problems with Mondial getting them to cover the work done today.
Considering the clonk wasn't present upon me receiving the car and only came to light a few days later, this is an interesting situation. How on earth can you detect a problem when it's not there? Ho Hum.
The garage, bless'em are taking this up for me as they're keen to avoid having to shell out for the work themselves, cos I ain't paying for it!
Now this is funny. Car comes back from garage with noise from the rear. I can only describe it as a sowing machine
type 'chip-chip-chip' sound, increases with speed in or out of gear. So I don the rubber gloves and jack car up to inspect rear wheels, chocking the front wheels (health & safety) release the h/brake. Spin the o/s rear and it would appear the pad is catching the inner hub bit. N/s wheel spins with minimum amount of noise.
Okay, I know, it's getting boring now but owning a 206cc just keeps getting more and more interesting.
That is all (For now)

Clonking suspension update:
Car now booked in this Wednesday for rectification of o/s rear brake pad fouling and having spoken to warranty company 'Modial' today, they have asked the garage to re-assess the front suspension and report back with a view to covering replacement of front suspension leg lower bushes which should solve the clonk.
I can hardly contain my bowel movements with the excitement!

The story continues.....
Car back from garage, and the rear o/s wheel noise has been solved. It appears that the handbrake cable
was fouling the disc. This has now been cable tied away from the disc to prevent further problems. The rear n/s has also been tied to prevent the same thing happening there.
Now, the suspension clonk. The battle continues with the warranty company. More on this next week.
I have also been chasing the garage for the service history as I was told the car had a full history at the time of purchase but they couldn't locate the paperwork. Now several weeks on from purchase I have suggested today they sort this out within the next 14 days or cough up a refund of £700 in respect of the value of the service history for this car/year/mileage (S/H value suggested by a Pug dealership).
I would assume now that the mention of money back might just motivate the garage to 'extract the didget'. I have spoken to the leagal department at the AA who agree that a refund would be in order in this type of situation. I await with interest the outcome.
For those interested in the garage in question, it's Westerham Garage SEAT.

No service history as yet, the clock is ticking......going to send my wife down there next weekend, she loves a good ruck!
Clonky suspension update: There is now some progress as the garage are considering replacing the front suspension legs at their cost as warranty company still not playing ball.
Car is running well and returning good MPG.

Still no service history. The book allegedly is now at Peugeot.
I'll have to chase the service department at the garage regarding suspension legs.
About to take two weeks leave , alas no trip to sunnier parts. Decorating the lounge and a few days out in the Pug.
Hoping to do a fair few miles including a trip to Bristol to see if anything drops off it!
Amazed at the MPG, this 1.6 is more economical than my VW Polo 1.4 even on short journeys.
