Please help what gearbox I have in my 206cc
Hi everyone I am really stumped with my problem I need a new clutch and gearbox, I have a 206cc 1.6 petrol 2001 model 5 speed manual. It has the hydraulic clutch on the outside of the gearbox but I don't know if it is a hydraulic gearbox or a normal gearbox that I need please someone help me!! I'm in the West Midlands.

MA5 gearbox post 2002, so you do need a gearbox with hydraulic clutch. Cable clutch gearbox is not interchangeable.. You also need to match gearbox number so ratios are correct.

Thanks col but is it a hydraulic gearbox that I need or a gearbox with hydraulic clutch?

No it's not a hydraulic gearbox, although I have sometimes heard auto boxes called this.

As I said- Go by the gearbox code. If you get one for a diesel, the gear ratios will be all over the place and it won't perform as it should. Make sure it has a hydraulic clutch. Why don't you get your original box repaired- You will then know it's right for your car.
