Automatic Lighting Problem after new battery fit

Post by weepee »

Hi there,

wondered if anyone can help... I got a new battery fitted this week (after a few days of jump starts) however since then, my automatic lightening won't activate. Does anyone know how I can fix this (I've been so reliant on the automatic lightening option since getting my CC, so it's frustrating not to be able to use it).

I've checked the book and doesn't seem to be connected to any of the fuses.... sensors of some sort rings a bell though.

Can anyone help.... not sure if the new battery is a red herring!

:love-thx:

Hi

What you have to do to re-activate the lighting is;
turn your key one click round to the 1st position and then press and holt the button on the end of the left stalk (where it has the light controls and says "auto" for around four seconds and then it should flash up "automatic lighting active"

Hope this helps :-)

Brilliant thanks, this worked a treat - didn't realise it would need to be reset in this way :)

Another wee question you might be able to help me with.... the lighting underneath the fascia for the airconditioning/heater controls has gone. Again, this doesn't appear to be fuse related and I have a feeling I read somewhere about lights sitting undereath the plastic that would need replacing.

Is this what I would need to do and is there an easy way of getting the fasica off - don't want to start picking at it with a sharp object I've got this wrong!

Thanks again!

Hello

Glad it worked for you! My lights also did that after the battery was changed so I dont think its a fault, I just think everything gets reset perhaps...

As for the lighting, the controls are a sealed unit I believe.... So i'm guessing that the bulbs are actually inside the unit itself maybe? I'll have a hunt around and see what I can find out and let you know...
