not definite, but it appears i may be joining the exclusive Z club in march 2006

my plans were for a 307CC 180 this march but i was only willing to pay approx £18000 (incl options) which motorpoint were selling the car for a few months back as i don't think it's worth the price that uk dealers charge which is £20,940 + £975 for metallic, leather upgrade and cruise control - not much change from £22k. add my planned modifications at ecosse and you are talking close to £25k.

i can get good deals on the 138 model but as they are imports, it's not easy to add options which i would want to add a lot of to bring it up to 180 spec apart from the engine.

i have been thinking of the 350Z Roadster for the past week (still want a convertible which rules out the better looking coupe :D ) and i phoned motorpoint today as they hadn't had any 180's in stock for a while - in a way i was happy to hear they didn't have any due in within the next 2/3 months.

i can't really afford the Z the now which is why i am going to wait a year - add the fact that the first allocation due in the uk in feb/march are already sold out. by the time next year comes hopefully i won't need to borrow much if any to pay for it.

that means that i will be stuck driving the MG ZR which i bought in november and nothing else for more than another year  but tonight i worked out that not getting the 307CC or any car for another year will save me around £5900 between depreciation (over 5yrs), running costs, maintenance, insurance and savings on offset mortgage interest.

after 7 new peugeots since august 1994 - it now appears that the 206CC i sold in november was my last :|

in a way peugeot get what they deserve in losing a valuable customer through their own poor customer service, deplorable dealer service and inabiity to understand the needs of their customers.

 peugeot

Sounds like a plan! I don't think you'll have any regrets getting the Z - and boy do they go quick!

The Z cabrio has been available in Australia for some time and I really do like it. I also like the Chrysler Crossfire (or at least I thnk I do - sometimes I love its shape and other times i'm not sure).

As mentioned previously I've ordered a mini cooper s cabrio. I' really looking forward to getting it. They're lost of fun to drive and handle beautifully. I couldn't believe how plastic the 206CC looked and felt after having driven the mini - build quality of the mini is quite impressive.

Good luck with your long wait. Thankfully mine's only until April
Cheers

it will be a very long wait  but i think if i look a year down the line and i have a modified 307CC which would be nice i would regret not waiting and getting the 350Z roadster.

good luck with your mini when you get it - not long to go :P

Yay, Z roadsters are fantastic - saw a black one with the top down yesterday (it's over 70F here at the moment) and it's stunning.

Shame the UK prices aren't the same as US - you can pick up a brand new 350ZR for $38000 here (20286 GBP at current exchange rate).

good choice derek.... god you must be patient to wait about 60 weeks ;)

Anyway, Nissan CS is not the best but personally I haven't had any need to contact them.... My Z has only got a dash squeak and a slightly noisy fuel pump, but they are all very minor things and I'm very happy with it, so happy that I'm treating her with a new bodykit ;)

i'm not patient :D but the alternative is to buy an over priced import.

although being honest i need the year or so to save as i'm currently sitting about £7.5k short and i ain't dipping into the cash i borrowed last year for a possible extension.

if i don't do the extension i'll pay the money back as it's costing me £125 per month :(
