When i lock my car i press the button once, but if i press the key again it makes another noise.

Does anyone know what happens when u push it the second time.

I know by pressing it once it locks car and activates alarm.

Is the second press to deadlock it??????????????????

Yes Louis the second one is to deadlock it (i think!) if i remember rightly from what the man said when i picked it up. The first press alrams and deadlocks the second press takes the alrm off and just deadlocks it! :)

To test I suggest you press it the 2nd time and then go and try opening the boot to see if the alarm sounds.

If it does just deadlock it the 2nd time then its very useful for when parking with the top down.

not really.... seeing as when you have the roof down and 'plip' the key one to deadlock and alarm the ultrasonic is deactivated but the car is still alarmed...

if you park with the roof down you can still have the alarm!!

Not on mine, the 1st press locks car and arms alarm, 2nd press deadlocks it with alarm still on. And with the roof down, it automatically diasables the sensors so only the opening of the doors or boot will sound the alarm.

I agree with Phonic on this on this one. The first blip locks and alarms. The second blip deadlocks and alarms.

I always deadlock mine by blipping twice and recently I forgot to 'un-blip' it before I put a suitcase in the boot. The alarm went off. Not a major problem in itself except that it was very early in the morning and the neighbours complained.

Ah well.

when the roof is down and you press the button twice to deadlock and arm the alarm then it'll save me pressing the silly button to disarm the sensors as that's what I usually do.

Not sure on the newer cc's but on my old one (2002) pressing the plip a second time would UNDEADLOCK the doors. Best thing to do is to try it out for yourselves:

Leave the windows open on your car and lock the doors with the plip. Then try pulling the door pin up to unlock the doors. It shouldn't work as it's deadlocked. If you try it after plipping twice you should be able to open the doors with the door pin = no deadlocks. Alarm should go off though.

The pre 2002 models were the opposite. One to lock it and 2 to deadlock it - maybe Peugeot have changed it again :?

Ed_shek, there's no need to play around with the button to disarm the sensors unless you're leaving a pet or someone(!) in the car with the roof up. I'm fairly sure that the sensors are automatically disabled when the roof is down.

I don't think the sensors are disarmed automatically when the roof is down as the alarm has sounded when someone has reached in or when the car is buffeted by the wind.

Peugeot manual says on page 128
.
The first plip deadlocks and sets the alarm.
The second plip un-deadlocks the doors so if you leave someone in the car they can get out in an emergency.

It does not mention whether it knocks off the alarm with the second plip.

One plip = deadlocked with alarm

Two plips = no deadlocks, just locked with alarm

Lock with key = no dealocks, no alarm

RTFM ;)
