Bought Y Reg CC SE from dealer ... and after one week ther brakes started squealing.

Went back to dealer who skimmed discs and put some anti squeal paste on the pads......... all for free

Squealing came back 1 week later , so spoke with dealer who booked car back in. After a discussion they agrred to put new discs and new pads (updated type) on free of charge

This happened Mon and all is ok so far..... :)

Update on mine - just had call from dealer (20k service time) who said they'll be fitting new 'improved' brake pads under warranty. :D

Wanted £80 to skim the disc though (told 'em to get knotted). Only other work is a new pollen filter. Woohoo!

Also said "Do you know your tyres are approaching 1.6mm?" I said yeah, but since they want £110 per tyre and Kwik Fit do 'em for £86, they won't be getting my cash on that either.

Let's see about them there brakes though...

Same here re warranty. At 22K and the end of my 2 year warranty period (in Oz it's 2 yrs versus the 3 in the UK) I got new brakes and they said too that they were upgraded. Clearly seems to be a recognised problem, so I encourage you all to ask for new brakes before your warranty runs out.
Cheers

Well I've just had another call. They're keeping it in overnight as they have to replace the exhaust manifold - again! Nice of them to tell me about it & fit it under warranty though :D

Apparently, though, Pug have now modified this part as well. It's a different part number than my original replacement.

Well so far so good on the squeaky brakes front. :)

Kwik Fit told me F1s are now £110 including fitting but I managed to get 'em to down to £352 for all 4 to be fitted at the weekend. :D

Just contacted my dealer - Hawkins Cornwall UK - they say Peugeot only authorised them to clean the dust off at 6 months (which they did) under warranty. Now they want us to pay for the mod even though its been back two or three times for this - the Renault Megane CC starts to become more attractive! My CC is 22 months old, with 17k on the clock. I have contacted Peugeot direct, and they say they will give us an answer within three days - hope springs eternal. :?

Hi Lyn,
try another dealer (Truscotts perhaps) and see what they say. The dealers all do things differently- some whinge and moan about having to do any work whatsoever and others replace the pads under warranty without even being asked.

We've had the front pads replaced without too much trouble- although they don't want to do the rear ones!
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.
