Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

How hard to fit I wonder? It says "fitted in minutes" but I'd have thought it would be a linkage change and ramp jobbie, surely?

If its a straught forward DIY job, is there anyone that could maybe do a little "how to" on this product. Cos to be honest, the 206cc gear lever has got a pretty long throw to it.

Yep, I'm a pretty good DIYer but have no specialist tools.
Anyone got any tips or anecdotes?
And is it something that can be put back to 'normal' should the need, ahem warranty, ahem arise?

Perhaps try one on my Mk2 Golf first :?:

I'm obviously being a bit of a 'blonde girlie' here.

What is the difference? Ok, he seems to have a bit of trouble in the 'before' video clip, but my gear change is like the 'after' video clip and mine's standard! :?

Basically, it shortens the length of travel that the gear lever moves, so you can change gear faster too.

doesnt that add more stress to the gearbox internals though ?
I'm sure I've read somewhere that is can cause some problems ?

Hi,

In my opinion it is well worth it and yes it is only a couple of minute job you just have to wait until the exhaust cools down first or else you will get a nasty burn. I wrote out the full instructions at the following link:

http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/modules.p ... quickshift

You can also easily remove it so it wouldn't affect your warranty.

Hope that helps

Michael

Nice one, thanks Michael!

Now just need to see if I can 'introduce' this mod to the car in the same way as I did the ally hoops... ;)

I fitted one last year and it does make a big difference. Not difficult to fit but a bit fiddly as there isn’t much room to get to the linkage. Here are some before and after pics.

I'll probably get one after my 20k service - coming up in a month or two :(
