I have had my 206 for over a year now..and im starting to get really p**** off with the noises it makes. Shortly after buying it i noticed a rattling metalic engine noise which i never reported...
..after a week of buying the car i bought a devil back box and a K&N filter pannel.
7 months later my catalytic convertor died (i think after i bent my alloy when i hit a plank of wood at 85mph!) and things really started to rattle. I guessed that the earlier rattling was a pre-cursor to the cat dying.
I took the car to my mates garage, replaced the DEVIL backbox with my standard one, and replaced the air filter to standard also. I then took the car to Pug and told them the cat was dead. They agreed and replaced it under warrenty.
That got rid of the really bad catalytic convertor rattle, but left the original, quieter metallic rattle....which is still there today. Every time i put my foot down it sounds like a bag of bolts, especially when quiet.
It isn't the plastic engine cover, becuase i have taken that off now (to get rid of the 2500 rev vibration). I can also here a burbling noise coming from the drivers side of the engine on tick-over.
Has anyone got any ideas before i just give up and sell it....i can't be bothered to go through the whole pain of putting it back to standard before pug look at it.
Any help would really be appreciated...
Cheers
Steve
