Juddering steering

my car has sounded a little throaty lately, almost as if the exhaust has a hole in..but it hasn't...has anyone had something similar.....

also more worryingly...when I turn with full lock on the car judders as if its hit something about 2 or 3 times then stops...it feels like the steering is gonna snap....anyone else had that!

I think i have the same or similar noise! loud and coming from under the car??

mine is going in tomorrow for a few days to get this looked at and a few other things.

i had the problem. its worse when cold and going slow am i right? i think it was my steering rack they replaced on mine.

yep, if i do a slow turn with full lock, like out of parking space, its like I have hit 2 or three solid objects!

did they find the problem or did you have to force them to change the rack as I think that is what I am going to have to do!

nope i took it in and they knew what it was after they had looked at it. if u want i will ring my dealer tommorro and get the full details of what was replaced.

btw i only noticed mine when i was going slow (like pulling out of parking spaces) it makes u cringe doesnt it. really nasty sound.

if ya could that would be great, mine is back in on monday to be de-panneled as they say the knocking noise coming from the rear, on both sides, when I go over bumps is something trapped inside the right rear panel...and not my shocks...
