At the start of pressing the clutch down, it makes a really loud squeaking noise and the only way I can get rid of it is by turning up the vloume on the stereo. Once the clutch pedal is down, it makes no noise, its on the initial inch of depressing that makes a sound.
Any ideas on how I can fix this other than the stero solution I currently use?:)?:)?:)

i had the same problem
ignored it for awhile
evetually destroying the gearbox! and had to have it changed
they later told me the noise was some kind of ball bearing in the clutch
one of the balls popped out and made the noise
evetually it made it into the gearbox itself where it destroyed the whole gearbox
it even cracked the gearbox casing!
had to wait ages for a new one
changed under warannty thank god!
only made the noise when the clutch was not pressed in
if i did that it was quiet
let it go and it makes the noise
