MPG Computer Stuck

Hi Guys, Bought my first CC this week, when i got it the MPG computer wouldnt always change and is now frozen on the average speed cycle. does anyone know how to reset the system? or do the buttons on the end of the stalks tend to stop working ? would it be hard to change the stalks? im ok at changing things but never done these before, and where would i be able to get cheap ones? its on a 03 plate 2.0 SE

Any help is much appreciated :D

Changing the stalks isn't going to be cheap .. the Comm2000 unit is one piece behind the steering wheel and there are several different types so you have to find the right one that matches what you already have.
