Engine kicks when stopping

Hi all

I have the following problem, when I'm stopping, the engine kicks. Or... when I stop, if it won't kick, then when I'm trying to accelerate the gear does not engage, so the engine is revving, the car doesn't roll, I need to rev hard then the car is rolling very very slowly and suddenly does that kick again and accelerates in normal rate. I've noticed that happens when either the weather is too hot or the car does many stop and goes. So I'm guessing it happens when the engine (or the transmission) warms up too much.

Any ideas what can it be?

Have you checked the fluid level in the transmission?

It is vital that the correct ATF, Esso LT 71141, is used. The "run-of -the -mill" ATF will cause many problems.

No I didn't. I'm getting the car for regular servicing to a mechanic, I guess he is doing it (I hope so) I will check tomorrow.

You will see that the procedure requires addition of fluid - make sure he uses Esso LT 71141, or he will make matters worse.

I hope that's the problem and I can get away just with some fluid replacement.

I had no luck checking the fluid level, I cannot access underneath the car and I have no ramps to lift it up.
