My car is generally fine and runs well. Serviced in August (full), new brake discs/pads/tyres. (2005 year).
Problem is when I park! I think it's when I've reversed into the space, then try to straighten up, usually going backwards/forwards to get as close to kerb as possible. My car judders quite violently sometimes whilst turning steering wheel and edging slowly forwards. It feels like it's going to stall.....
Can it be the clutch? Power steering? Serious?? Am I maybe turning the steering wheel too hard (I've just read somewhere that power steering shouldn't go to full lock).
I remember when I first got the car (a year ago) that the clutch seemed 'fierce' when parking on a slight incline. So, I've sort of got used to it......but now it seems a bit worse.....enough for me to notice it being a issue and I dread parking on a hill!

Re: Juddering when parking in small space
Sounds like clutch judder. What happens if you give it slightly more throttle?
Cheers Col.

Re: Juddering when parking in small space
I agree with Capncol that it sounds like clutch judder. How many miles has the car done on that clutch? There may be some contamination of the clutch lining material as well as wear..
Also if the steering wheel is turned when the road wheels are not rolling forward or backward it can put excessive strain on the power steering and cause the engine revs to drop. I try never to turn the steering wheel before the car is moving.
Another thing - you've had some components of the fuel system replaced haven't you? Has the cars tickover speed changed following that work?

Have you checked the power steering fluid level?
