Aircon Pressure Switch fault - P0532

Post by ribs99 »

Hi

I have just bought a 206cc for my wife and scanning it with PP2000 revealed a number of problems which I have resolved but I need a little advice on this one.

The P0532 relates to the air con pressure sensor, I found it under the bonnet and guess what it had been disconnected??? I found the plug and assumed someone had just forgotten to plug it back in but PP still reports the P5032 error.

I suspect that either the sensor has failed or the system needs recharging. I would like to test the sensor first but it's really difficult to get a multi-meter on to measure and I suspect removing it may release the gas!

If the sensor has failed then I'm guessing it will need the gas removing, the sensor changing and the system recharging?

Can anyone other any advice on this?

PS. The Air Con is not working, when the button is pressed you can't hear the pump engage although using PP to test it shows that it does work.

Thanks

Neil

Just had another look and found the pipe has broken that goes to the cooler so I guess that explains the low pressure fault :(

The aircon pump won't run with no pressure. The switch will stop the pump coming on, or turn the fans on with high pressure.
Low pressure will cause this code
