Sun is shining, but roof broken!

Post by NellGwyn »

Very anger and unhappy. I can not enjoy this lovely weather in myPeugeot 206 cc as the roof will not retract. Need some advise please. My mechanic has said it can not be fixed, going to get a new mechanic as that is a lie! had other problems before so I know it can be resolved, but need someone to tell me how I can get it repaired or what I need to do to solve the issue.

So to the problem. When the parcel shelf is not pulled across the boot, and you press the control switch, a bleep is heard. That's all good but when it is pulled across, there is nothing. When you release the roof locks, you do not get a bleep and when you press the button to operate the roof, nothing happens. The windows operate fine when pressing their respect button but not as part of the roof operation.

I have checked the various sensors and made sure the computer box in the boot has all the plugs in properly. It have tried pulling out and replacing the fuse to reset everything, but nothing works. Do I need to replace the computer box or could it be something to do with the hydraulics? if anyone has some sensible advise I would appreciate your comments. thank you in advance.

Sounds like one of the roof latch microswitches is faulty. There are many posts on here about them. You should find the answer using the search facility.
Cheers Col.

I have come to the conclusion that Lyndon is some mystical peugeot god or has a stash of fairy dust that he sprinkles into the air.

After posting yesterday, when out about 8.30pm last night to,take the dog for his walk, then when I got back thought I was try it again. Did absolutely nothing other than stick my finger in to the driver door roof latch to try and locate the micro switch. Could not find or feel anything, but then switched car on so dashboard all light up, then released both roof latches and presses the button. hey presto it worked. now bring on the sun again, yeah....
