Hints and Tips

Post by sardan1974 »

As a total newbie to the joys of the 206cc, and having only had my car for a week, would appreciate any hints and tips as to keeping it in tip top condition.

Looking through the forum, have already found that I need to:
* Silicone grease the seals
* Spray lubricant into the roof latch mechanisms

Any other helps and tips would be greatly appreciated, absolutely love my little car and want to do anything possible to keep it going and going and going.......

Thanks in advance

What's the mileage and any records of a cambelt replacement? Although as a 2004 it will be ready for a cambelt change based on age ... think it is 10 years or 80000 miles, although you shouldn't really leave it that long ... replace water pump at same time.

Full service (oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs (Bosch super-4)) and check brake pads and discs for wear. I'd flush and replace the brake fluid as this is never done in a service ... and should be changed every 2-3 years.

Pollution Filter... it's a 2min job and can potentially avoid blowing the heater matrix :)

I agree that the Pollen filter is a 2 minute job but it won't affect the heater matrix. It would increase air-flow over the heater resistor and help prolong its life though.
