2003 Peugeot 206 GTi 1997cc petrol
Audio controls behind steering wheel stopped working/ rear winscreen wiper & washer start spontaneously. Agent told me that a new motherboard is required. NZ$1000+ plus labour.
Had headlights turned to auto but now they turn on in broad daylight, bright sunlight etc. Haven't isolated the problem yet.
Any help appreciated

Sounds like it might be related to the com 2000 unit, which is the steering column switch gear (stalks)

Try a BSI reset ...
One another forum, someone had something similar. Left ignition on so it went into Eco Mode ... switch off, back on and the problem went away! (Could that have soft reset the BSI as well?)
