roof problems

Post by paulk »

hello newbie looking for help
my wifes 206cc has been great since i bought it for her months ago.
yesterday I lowered the roof to clean it for her,
hours later when I went to put it up, it wouldn't work, so I manually closed the roof, I am stuck to the cause of the failure.

1. the only thing I did different to any other time I have opened the roof was that when opening the roof this time I realised that I hadn't started the engine, so I started it as the roof was opening causing the roof to pause for a second before finish opening.would this have caused the failure ??

2.I followed the instructions to close the roof manually now the boot lid locks nearest the rear window wont engage

3. and can anyone help talk me through the reset mode if that's whats required, I have looked through the forum and got part of it but not everything from start to finish

4. were and what number are the fuses for the sunroof it cause thats the problem

thank to however can help me

Yes, starting the car mid-operation would have upset it. Don't do anything while operating the roof. Don't even undo a seat belt while it is opening or closing.

Whoops, as GM says - you've brassed it off!
You may need someone with Peugeot Planet on their computer to help you reset it.
Can you put your location in your profile to narrow things down a bit?

ok tried again tonight with fresh eyes.
tightened up pressure screw, locked boot hinge pins in proper place

ignition on, unclip hooks at top of the roof at windscreen, and get the loud beep you should, now press roof lift button and nothing moves, get a series of quiet beeps from dash that's it

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

If you've done a manual close, first thing to try after tightening screw etc is to finish closing the roof.
When you do a manual close, it is not "tight", hence people often get the alarm when it isn't latched properly.
Try engine on, close roof. (You might need to unclip the windscreen clips first. You should hear hydraulics run, and roof will close, and then you will get the closed bong/beep.
Then try opening again.
