Hi all,
I've looked long and hard all over this forum and the wider web, but I can't find a clear solution.
I have a 2002 1.6 206CC S. It was a total mess when I got it for £800 but with almost a total engine rebuild and new gearbox, clutch, wishbones......the list goes on...it's not bad now.
I've replaced the central electric windows/mirrors switch which solved the "drivers window stuck down" problem. However, with the roof up there is a significant rattle from the boot. I believe I've narrowed it down to the parcel shelf rattling in the down position. Is this normal? Is there anyway to secure it, as my suspicions are that it is rattling and triggering a roof warning which then inhibits the windows from going down, at this point I can still lower the roof (with the windows up) but then the roof motor will not cutout and keeps running without a "bong"....does any of this sound familiar?
I believe I have a combination of the "roof warning over bumps" problem and maybe a "micro switch I" problem.
Sorry to come at you with problems. I've used the gas strut and window switch and com2000 info from here and it's all be invaluable, I know there is hope out there.
Thanks
Tom

So looks like I've solved it very simply. I've adjusted the boot latch and the rattle has gone, I've not had a roof fault yet and therefore the windows operate normally as there is no roof warning sound.

Sorry no-one responded. There are posts on the forum regarding the boot latch and I'm hoping that you found one of those which might have helped you. If not, well done anyway, by posting back the outcome you will probably help someone else.

Thanks,
That's why I posted as I have seen many posts that are tantalisingly close to the problems I'm having but without feedback I will never know if it was fixed. However, the roof warning is back so, back to square one! Humpff!

There's definitely SOMETHING wrong (but then you knew that already) - however I'm particularly thinking about your being able to lower the roof with the windows up: That shouldn't be possible. The usual process is for you to get a bong when both roof latches are opened, then when you pull back the roof button it automatically lowers front and then rear windows before folding the roof away.
Could you put your location in your profile? You might find someone nearby who you could compare roof operations with. Or even better - a PP2000 owner who could do a diagnostic on it.
PS Sorry to be a bit old school, but I always prefered the Avro 698 myself!

Yeah I agree. I haven't seen many examples of people being able to lower and raise the roof with the windows in place, but that's exactly what I can do. I'll update my profile with my location, which is Bournemouth and in the mean time keep looking for the solution. I'll pop over to Peugeot for a new micro switch I this week as it looks like its been fiddled with in the past.

Ok so here is a second and hopefully final solution. I've looked around and seen that my micro switch I looks a little molested. I also saw that another poster had tied a cable tie around the pin that makes contact with micro switch I. So far, and fingers crossed I've not had any problems. I can't do a link to his/her post but it is one of the larger posts regarding the roof warming sounding after going over a bump.

Ok everyone, so I finally took it to an auto electrician and got the codes read. Basically the cables have stretched. He has adjusted them and its working great now, but I fully expect them to stretch again. The parts from Peugeot are nearly £600! I going to try and get the cables fabricated somewhere else.
