roof problem

Post by daveraw2008 »

hi,i'm new here. i have bought a 206 cc and started tidying it up etc.the roof doesn't open.if i leave the 2 roof catches in the closed position, the electric windows open and close as they should using the window switches.if i open the 2 front roof catches, the windows wont open or close at all. there's a beeping noise which i guess is telling me something is wrong.the boot lock also doesn't operate via the central locking.if i unlock it manually then the central locking will lock it. i'm wondering if there's a fault in either of the pillar micro switches ? has anyone had the same problem ? also,if i lower the windows and unlatch the front catches, then operate the roof down switch i get the same beeping sound.before i can close the windows i have to close the 2 latches.the roof switch appears to do nothing at all. i have been told that its supposed to lower the windows then lower the roof ? thanks in advance.

Read your owners manual.

The boot was never designed to unlock via the solenoid. You can only lock it using the lock button on your remote key. To unlock it you must insert the key in the lock and turn it. That way the boot is more secure and people can't access it when you come to a stop, unless you've purposely left it unlocked.

Most problems with the roof are self-inflicted by new owners who have not read their owners manual thoroughly before they use their car. Is the blind drawn across the boot when you try to operate the roof? (It needs to be before the roof will operate). If so can you see if that micro-switch is operating when the blind is drawn?

I always have the engine running when operating the roof. Once in operation do nothing else until the opening sequence is completed and confirmed with a chime. Similarly when closing the roof. Never switch off the ignition when operating the roof.

Your windows seem to be operating as they should. Read the manual.
