Afternoon all,
I'm hoping someone will be able to offer some advice...
I have just picked up a 51 plate 1.6 206cc, which has a couple of issues.
I think also i may have gone about "fixing" it in the wrong way. Any advice appreciated!
There were problems with the roof/boot not opening.
I managed to get a tool through the access hole behind rear passenger seat to get the microswitch depressed so the roof would work. I probably made a mistake by deciding to let it go through a cycle, as it failed to complete.
Eventually the roof went fully open, however as the boot doesn't open, i am not sure how to go about closing it without access to all the key parts!
Does anyone know how to open the boot when the roof is effectively locked open?
I can see 2 possibilities, neither of which are ideal (if they work).
1-Dismantle the roof piece by piece, thus giving access to the boot. Hopefully open the boot from the inside, and then piece the roof back together.
2-Punch the boot lock out. Not sure if this will allow boot to open. Also will no doubt cost to get a new lock with the right pattern for my current key.
Luckily i have it in the garage as it just started raining, but what seemed like a good gamble (got a decent price) might now be not such a good gamble!
Tks in advance for any suggestions. Let me know if you need more info.
