2004 CC roof fault

We have an 04 206 cc which has just developed a roof fault, this is what happens, the tailgate part opens correctly, the roof fully retracts back into the boot but the tailgate section stays in the air and does not close to complete the cycle, the car has been to a local specialist today for diagnostic plug in but all ecus were able to be read apart from the roof ecu so I don't know if there are any fault codes, checked he ecu to make sure it had not got wet and it's bone dry and also all pins on the ecu plugs are perfect and not got wet so not sure why ecu carnt be read. Any ideas on why the tailgate section will not close would Ne greatly appreciated before a trip to co-op main stealer :-)

i had same issued sprayed wd40 all over the moving roof parts left for 10 mins and wolla works perfect i lube it up every 2 weeks
