constant beeping = little white clip wont stay hooked on?
Hi, im new and in desperate need of some help please, being a typical girl who has no idea about cars
yesterday my car started making a constant beeping sound while driving, i googled which led me to this site and this post
http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11752
well turns out my car has the same issue, except i have now put the white catch back on about 15 times and everytime i move the car it comes back off. it is lose enough i can actually put it back on with my hands
so my question is is there any way i can tighten this myself? if not what is this part called so i look like i know what im talking about when i go to the garage
also its this side of the car that rattles when driving and has a little squeek when opening and closing the boot
probabally worth mentioning i found out at the end of last year my car was involved in an accident at some point on this side so no idea if this could be linked, its just i am having issues with the door closing properly too (which its now booked in for) and the garage said it had def been in a previous accident
its a y reg 1.6
thanks

just had a better look and when the boot is open the right side of the lid pushes up when you lift from under right above the hinge, top right corner. the left side doesnt. as soon as you push up from underneath at the top the whole lot moves apart hence why the white clip isnt staying on - got a feeling this is going to be expensive

If you are taking it to the garage anyway, why don't you just show them the problem? That way they know exactly what you are having trouble with.

hi, thanks for replying. i took it to the garage and he wasnt sure, said it might need a new bracket but to order from peugeot direct so took it to peugeot and the parts guy wasnt sure either?? the while section around that whute clip in the top side is lose/moving when you move it yourself... if someone could shed some light or even let me know what that bit is called as peugeot quoted £250 for the part he thinks it might be??

Re: constant beeping = little white clip wont stay hooked on
i know right? i have now been to 4 garages... each one telling me something different?
thanks for those links, it is the first one!! im not very good at explaining at all, as im sure you can tell but basically the white hook will not stay on at all. if you unhook the other side it also becomes loose so im not as panicked by it now, but my neighbour said he thinks that the white clip is coming off because of bad tension in the wires, so i took it to the 4th garage who said could be but as its hydraullic he couldnt try and fix or even say for sure... part of me thinks i should keep my mouth shut and let them come to their own conclusion as to what is wrong??
i am so greatful of your help, like you wouldnt even imagine!
thanks

The hydraulic rams operate the latches by cable, so it could be that.
Whereabouts are you?
