206 aux belt

Hi, sorry if this has been answered before, just bought 206 diesel 1.9d 2002 with dw8b engine no a/c fitted ,cannot figure out how auto tensioner works on aux belt just changed (cambelt,water pump and elleptical pulley), but the auxillary belt tensioner seems not to be working as the belt is vibrating a lot. should the other pulley be of an elliptical type as mine is not. any help would be gratefull.
