Hi, I am new to the club and have a problem that I hope someone can help me with, I own a 2002 1.1 LX three door model with play in the off side rear axle bearing and have heard that it will need a new complete axle to fix it. I find this hard to believe and would welcome any advice on the matter.

Re: Rear Axle Problem
We are used to locating rear axles for our cars (206cc).

However I suspect the one on your 1.1 hatchback will be different.
Use the search facility on this forum searching "rear axle" and you'll come up with quite a few threads.

Hi,
Thanks very much for you advice I still am amazed that the complete axle has to be replaced for a worn bush.

The bushes can be replaced see:
http://www.206info.co.uk/Forums/viewtop ... art=0.html
or you can contact, for a recon unit:
http://www.sspengineering.co.uk/
and for more, informed, comment:

That's why most folk would go for the 2nd hand option from a scrappy. Much easier and cheaper.
