Hi all, Im new to this site as I have just bought my 2002 2.0 206cc (87000miles)
A few problems my fiénce has noticed:
1. Clunk sound when dropping clutch to accelerate.
2. Knock sound on minor pot holes.
3. A flutter sound between 1500 and 2500 revs, sounds like a frayed belt?
4. Power steering tough until you go over 20mph.
5. Car feels light over 90mph.
6. Engine management light constantly on.
If anyone has any experience with these type of issues I would really appreciate the input.
Am getting it booked in to Peugeot and handing them that very list to see if they can shed some light.
Thanks in advance.
Stacey

I'm not an expert - bought mine in March
2. I had same knocking sound on pot holes (theres a thread somewhere) Peugeot said it was suspension arms, which were replaced and solved the problem. Cost around £400
My engine management light popped on every now and again - turned out to be cat convertor - I had that and whole exhaust replaced, solved that. Done by a friend/mechanic was about £160 Peugeot wanted £800 for genuine parts not including labour.
Good luck :-)
As I say I'm not an expert but thought I mention what sounded familiar on your list

i know these are very sensitive when it comes to putting the engine management light and will often come on for no reason. it may be on because of your 'flutter' between those revs, or like i said it may be on because their just too sensitive. just disconnect the battery and leave it off for about 15 mins then reconnect it. if its still on, you've probably got a problem.
this is worth a try before takin it to a garage, they love to rattle up the labour costs on a job like that.
