Hi. Took delivery of my 2007 1.6cc allure on Friday and was chuffed to bits til Friday tea time! Its was 3 degrees but daughter insisted on a topless drive home !!!Was a mere 3 degrees but fortunately I didnt need treatment for frost bite! When we got home the back passenger window wouldnt come back up without some gentle encouragement which has resulted in some VERY nasty scratches to the glass (and unhealthy noises!). Have called the dealer (Main) that I bought her from and they sounding positive about resolving my prob --- but would like the heads up on what else I should be looking at for going wrong/checking! Its a 100 mile round trip to the dealers for me (cos the local ones didnt have any nice colours!). Havent yet found any damp etc but given the fact that i will only have done a couple of hundred miles before i take it back i would be grateful for any advice about any potential probs i should be looking for. Thanks muchly for your help!

Welcome to the forum Helen. Hope you'd got your wind deflector up. Brrrrr!
Plenty of comment in the forums. I suggest you trawl though for an hour or so.
Good luck with the window.

Ermmmm - wind deflector? what bit is that and what does it do except deflect the wind? And if I got one where do i find it? Just arranging to take the car back to the dealers to look at/rectify the rear window prob and have noticed that the roof seal on the drivers side is cracked (split is about 2mm) so am assuming that this is a potential leak site? Also, having taken all the advice on this site I have swallowed the manual and discovered that I dont have the 'Confidential Card' - is this a potential problem and having purchased her from the main dealer etc should they have provided me with it? I realise that these probably sound like stupid questions to you all but having not discovered this site until after my purchase (and now being really scared!) I hope that you will forgive me!

If you bought from a Main Dealer Helen then they are naughty if they didn't supply you with the confidential card. If it was missing they should certainly have mentioned it. If you have key problems you'll find it difficult to get a replacement without the card. Insist that they find it and supply it to you.
The wind deflector is an optional extra and fits behind the front seats. If you haven't got one don't worry, but they are a boon and help stop the stiff necks that you get from sitting in a draught. My wife wouldn't be without hers.
Point out your concerns with the roof seal when you go back to the dealers. You're right, there's potential for a leak there. Get it sorted while under warranty.
One other tip. Your car will have alloy wheels and anti-theft wheel bolts. Make sure they've given you the adaptor key to remove those. Make a note of the code on it and write it down and keep it at home with your car documentation. If you do lose the adaptor key you'll be able to get a replacement easily if you have its code. Without it you could end up with someone having to use brute force to remove the locking wheel bolts!
Let us know how you get on. Enjoy your car. Glad you've read the manual - wish more folk would do that rather than learn the hard way.

Well - heres an update! I am now wishing that I had never found this site because that would probably have meant that I had purchased something else!
It would seem that I have managed to pick myself up a real piece of
I reported all my initial probs to the main dealer that I bought it from within 24 hours of picking it up and a couple more within one week.
Got the rear sticking window sorted (new actuator) but the dealer would only attempt to polish out the deep scratches on the window - was about 75% successful. Had a number of other issues which they begrudgingly agreed to rectify but I had to wait 3 weeks before they would do the work. The probs that I reported with dodgy roof mechanism seemed to get ignored - although initially it was an intermitent fault.
Managed to lay my hands on a wind deflector on eBay and what a difference that makes! (or should I say would make!)
Car came back on Wednesday after the garage had had it in for the second time.
Sun shone on Friday so I attempted to put the roof down and all was going well til the point where the boot should have gone down and I get a constant whirring noise and the boot remains firmly in the air! When I went to put the roof back up the boot happily closes! Several attempts later and it was pretty obvious that I was on a no-brainer so made another call to the dealer.
When I wanted to spend my money they were very keen to talk to me but now when I call everyone is busy!
As I have had the car for over 30 days (collected 32 days before my last call and despite reporting issues inc. a problematic roof!) they wanted to charge me £100 for diagnostics. Stood my ground and they finally agreed that I wouldnt have to pay but they wanted me to pay for the courtesy car that I will need! I dont think so!!
Whilst my car drives very nicely and looks lovely I am hugely disappointed and wouldnt touch a Peugeot (of any description!) with a barge-pole! I think that the attitude of the dealer that I have purchased from stinks!

I agree with your sentiments Helen and am so sorry to hear of the problems you're experiencing.
You'll never buy from that dealer again. What a short-sighted attitude they have!
