feel a grinding sound/feel from auto transmission.

When my gear is in D and I'm pressing the brake, i can sometimes feel a grinding sound/feel from auto transmission. I can even feel the grinding when touching the gear knob. What does this mean?

The grinding only happens when my leg is on the brake and gear is on D, but when i release the brake, the grinding stops. i just changed all brake pads 2 months ago. what i mean is the grinding does not happen when i press the brake, but when my foot is ON the brake (PRESSED).

Can only be the brake pads, how about the rear ones ? Is the fluid level o.k. in the transmission? Robby.

this happens when I'm my foot in on the brake, not when I'm pressing the brake. How do i check the transmission fluid?
