Hi there.
yesterday my wife was sat idling in her CC(2.0 se 2001) and the car cut aout and refused to re start. she thinks there was a burning smell and some smoke. Now the break down operator thought it was starter motor related...
but I am not sure..
why wold a starter cause it to cut out when idling??
anyways, now when I turn on the ignition, the clock is raeading "ecconomy mode". When I turn ignition on the fuel pump primes, but if I try to start the car it just clicks, no sighn of the car trying to turn over...
Dont wanna change the starter if its not that really.
anybody got any other ideas???
thanks
new and in need of help...

Well done Scott, thanks for feeding back. Glad your wife is mobile once again.
Sounds as if your breakdown man knew his job.
Good to have you with us on the forum, welcome.
