Hi guys,

Wondered if anyone could help. I use my car mainly for city and short motorway driving (about 20-30 mins or so) and am at the moment getting only about 250 miles to a full tank. Using the Shell V Power stuff at the moment - feel like I got better mileage with regular stuff, is this because of the better performance it promises??? Is this a load of nonsense or is it the type of driving I'm doing. Got a 2L 52 plate?

Thanks for your advice.......

Higher octane is supposed to improve mpg but I think it depends on the car too.

If you are putting it in with the hope of better performance (which im assuming you have :D ) then you are not the average driver, and mpg readings will fluctuate a lot due to lead right foot. :lol2:

Hi there,

Was more puting it in to protect the engine and felt that occassionally there wasn't the ooooomph there when required so thought this might help (driving round Glasgow you don't really get the chance for a heavy right foot I'm afraid) So I'm not a boy racer type (well not most of the time). Thanks for your reply anyway.

Hi,

Your not really likely to see any performance improvement or mpg change using thse more expensive fuels. they may from time to time iron out flat spots. Maybe if you had a highly strung engine, the fuels work really well on scoobys, put not on the 2.0. Sorry to disappoint!
