Rubbish.

Most people were (and still are) right handed and would carry their sword in their right hand. They would keep a possible enemy to their right, where they could strike if necessary.

Actually, that's only one possibile explanation - there are several others, including something to do with carriage drivers driving on the left so they wouldn't hit oncoming traffic with their whips and others that I can't remember right now.

The U.S. did decide to drive on the right just to be different from Britain though.

Sorry, I know we've moved on from the left/right side of the road thing but I just thought I'd just add a little bit of extra info.

It is generally accepted that keeping to the left side of the road enabled right handed people (the majority of the population) to pass with their sword arm closest to oncoming strangers so they could more easily defend themselves from surprise attacks.
Apparently it was Napoleon, being a)left handed and b) deliberately controversial who decided that every territory he conquered, which was a large part of western Europe, would henceforth drive on the right hand side of the road.

It seems to be a mixture of Napoleon and the US.

Forty two

May be the answer to a lot of questions like...What is 7x6? and being a number it could be the answer to an infinite number of questiions but it is not the answer to all questions.

Most importantly it the answer to the ultimate question... of life the universe and everything. The question of course which is unknown but is hidden in your brain waves. Just ask the mice.
