I got the exhaust patched up as a few other members have, the manifold howver is a different story. It was replaced due to the 2800rpm rasp and sounds like it has gone again. What is the score on that? if a warranty replacement goes again is it done under warranty again or is that down to dealer discretion? Bear in mind that the manifold was done last year when the car was 2 years old and now the car is 3 years and 4 months old.

2.0 liter yer
yep if yur car in warranty/extended they can replace the manifold as many times as they see fit even if it has been changed under warranty before.
ive fitted 5 on the same car with no probs.
also fitted 10 comm 2000 on another vehicle, all under warranty.
go put in another claim bud. :D
if the rest of your system is rotten etc think you are giong to stump up for that :(
suspect the cat part is fine tis the rest rust. :D

Cheers Reap

I will make some calls and try and organise the manifold to be done again.....although I don't think it will be with the same dealer after the last time I had dealings with them. I might see if I can get it done whilst I am working away at the local dealer where I work.

hia.for what its worth.
the gear box and the engine dont share the same oil  .old minis used to.
dont know the ins and outs of their decsion for engine change due to oil leak.if it were that bad im almost certain that your car would not be mobile.and if your car was still in warranty i would be snapping your hand off to change your engine under warranty.they have nothing to loose cause they will redeem there money for engine etc and all labour and diagnostics charges .its a all win situation, and i dont know many dealers that would turn down £5000 worth of work. :D .
bring it down to my wrxs ill have your warranty work and put my sales and fixes up at theend of the month.uuummmmmm big bonus for reap uummmmm
A car that is more than 1 year old needs aproval from Peugeot warranty before any engine or gearbox change. They may somtimes send out area aftersales manager to inspect car/engine before replacement.

The problem I have came across and so to have other fellow master techs is when the wheel arch gaurds are removed because the air inlet for the air filter is pointed towards the top of the n/s/f wheel all the wet dirt, mud, sand, road salt etc, etc is forced into the filter as the wheel rotates and ends up soaking the filter and causing dirt to enter engine and cause bore wear.
As I said I have seen this once on a 206 GTI and I know a few other Pug dealers have had the same. I also know that Peugeot know about it and they can ask to see cars before any work like this is carried out.

I can't believe removing a wheel arch guard can cause such an expensive problem.

Poor Derek. :(
