well my visit to the zoo today was the usual one to get u p****d off.

they fixed the carpet and the squeaky clutch pedal but failed on the brakes. got 2 miles from the dealership and what did i hear ? i'll let you guess

immediately phoned the after sales manager direct. when he heard who was on the phone i'm sure a word with an f in it would have been used :D

took the car back along and made my views well known. the car has to go back in anyway to get the manifold changed - they could have done it today but i wasn't waiting 4hrs for them to do it. when it goes back in, they will completely strip both front and back to fix them.

we will wait and see the outcome

I'm nervous as mine is in for its first service right this minute. I also (well the car) suffer from the squeeky brakes problem - they came on almost dead on 4000 miles (only done 4300). I asked them to take a look at it - also the steering seems to be a little unstable going round corners, which is worrying. I wonder if I use too much throttle when hurtling around and that's why it feels odd, but I swear it feels less stable than when I first started driving it... of course there's always tyre wear.

Anyway, will let you know what those monkeys have probably not fixed later this afternoon!

I had a reply, they said I should talk to my dealer, and if I needed to know the location I should email them back my postcode.

I have emailed them back telling them i have no confidence in my dealer etc etc and asked for the nearest other dealer .. hehe.

I also had a call from the saleman of the dealer today ... so hes chasing up my faults too now.

Just to follow up on the post-before-last - City Motors Sheffield did my brakes for me (shaved them down and dusted them apparently) while they did the service. Couldn't find anything wrong with the steering, but it's probably me being paranoid.

The monkeys came through on this occasion - only thing now is I have to PUSH the brakes like hell!

Pat, Melanies CC had steering issues.

It felt like you were driving on ice sometimes as you went around corners. You just felt like a passenger and not like you were in control.

Anyway we had it looked at and suprise - NO PROBLEM is the answer. We got rid of it. We became to scared to drive on anything other than straight roads. (besides its other problems)

Rob - that's kinda freaked me slightly because the ice description was exactly how me and a friend had talked about it (friend is on my insurance so was driving too).

I don't think I'm exactly in the position to 'take mine back' to be honest - it's 6 months old and I really only just started to notice it.

Pat, it has a 3 year warranty. Sure you can take it back - ITS UNSAFE.

We sold Melanies back to the dealer after 6 months - £3k down but feel much safer now.

they always send you a reference number for any query.

they used to reply to your e-mail including a download link to your original e-mail. that was until in error they attached one of my e-mails to someone elses reply. the person they sent it to e-mailed me to let me know.

result was a grovelling apology as i threatened to expose their sheer incompetence with legal action. it was good to see them crawl
