Poor ol Derek,
one has to appreciate his dry sense of humour before reaching for the type keys lol !
Never mind, I was soon enlightened after loosing more than I thought on UK dealer CC residuals cos of the import competition out there, so I went an imported my SLK, 2K saving an avoided the 6 month wait.
Robbie.

oh dear, children let loose on keyboards again. What sort of crap are you smoking?dont get an import![]()
Do you think that imported cars are somehow different?
Do you think that imported cars aren't built on exactly that same production track as the car you've got?
Or are you just trying to protect your residual and persuade yourself that you're not an a*** for having paid UK dealer prices?
Get real!
LK
i could respond but you don't sound like someone i would waste my time with.

There's no argument!if u wanna carry on this arguement
Some of you people seem to be trying to justify paying £16-17k to a two-litre. If you've done it, then you've done it.
This year I bought a brand new two-litre for £12.6k. I defy anybody to identify that vehicle. Of course you can't, because it's exactly the same as the next two-litre. It came with a warranty (which, regrettably, has been claimed upon) and is full UK spec.
We have free choice in this country (and free speech - or so I thought!) - if you want to walk across the road to your local dealer and shell out more than £4k on top of the price that the rest of Europe pays, then do so - that's your choice!
BUT DON'T DISCOURAGE OTHERS! To do so by putting up any sort of smokescreen about 'imported vehicles' is damned selfish.
If anyone wants the inside track on how to import your own, just ask!
