when i was buying my 1st CC i considered using ECC and the quote i got showed an overall saving of £3k as the options were cheaper as well. as the waiting time was 40wks instead of the 20wks with the dealer i decided not to import and use a dealer instead.
although i would probably have got my car, i could easily have not been so lucky and lost £000's.
i'm happy i used a uk dealer for many reasons that include the above plus my rejection case amongst others.

I've thought of that before too, esp as you get whatever loyalty points schemes you might be in. But don't they make you pay the credit card surcharge too.do like I always do, pay for the whole car on your credit card. Its always easier to reject it as well if ever you need to as you will get the credit card companyies support.

yes, they usually claim about 4 or 5%. I ask them what bank they use. I then ring the bank and ask them what the real charge is, then tell them |I will pay that % only (generally 1.2%) and if they dont like it there are plenty of other dealers. Then explain that the money is guaranteed unlike a possibly fake bankers draft.
Usually shuts them up.
PS I have LOADS of air miles.
