My car won't start, it's the battery I think (5 year old 130kilometres).

3 questions

1. Which battery do I need to look for (price/power)?
2. Can i change it with my 2 left hands?
3. What equipment do i need?

Ok. The car did not start yesterday when the engine was hot. But this afternoon the engine did start (albeit a bit struggling). Went to the Quickfitter and for 58 quid a new battery. But then it did not start! With another battery attached it did start.

The engineer said "it could be teh start engine. if you're lucky they only have to clean it otherwise revise/renew it".

Is this the most possible cause? When hot: nothing and this afternoon cold it started (like I said with lots of struggling but in one 4 second try)

Ignition switch transponder? At least I think that's what they are called.

Just a guess but sometimes they don't recognise the ignition key when they are on the way out.

Are you getting anything when you turn the ignition on (when the fault occurs).
