I would like to ask if it is possible to put in my car a gps car detection system without causing any problems?(I think i could but i preffer to verify it from you)
I asked peugeot technicians and they told me that is not possible because 1st) of the warranty and 2nd) the multiplexing of the car.
In a few words if i put it (which means just take power from the battery) i put the car out of warranty (almost a year has passed from the day i bought it)!!!
Is indeed a dangerous think to do it or the technicians just want to make me avoid this move?
Has anyone before put such a think in his car and had simultaniously problems with the electrics of the car?
It seems im obliged to follow the rules of the manufactor.....

well you could get a Goodmans GPS sat nav system for 70 quid from www.ebuyer.com but BE WARNED, your windscreen may have protective film on it, which will prevent GPS signals getting through it!

You are talking about a tracking syatem?

If so your technician is taking the safe option m8

You can fit one and for the power source pm me as im not gona talk about it on a public forum

Due to the security implications

If it's tracking I was considering getting one of these which are a combined GSM phone and GPS. You can text it a message, it turns the GPS on, gets a fix, and sends you a text back with the location (which you can put in google maps). The TR102 model has GPRS abilities to be real-time tracked too. Both are a bit disjointed and you'd have to do all the work for the police but a very cheap solution in what is otherwise a very pricey market.

If you want to track your car after a theft then here is a cheap solution:

Get an old mobile phone with a car charger. Fit a PAYG simm.
Install in car and leave on.

If car is stolen then use the free tracking services the police have - just give them the mobile number!

Yes I suppose that's the cheapest option of all but it needs the police and mobile companies to do something about it, whereas the other one you could just give them the grid ref and they can get on with it ...

Yes I thought about that one too but I think you have to not only keep confirming you're willing to be tracked from the car mobile, but also pay an on-going subscription too :( Plus all those mobile tracing things are only vaguely accurate depending on the location and how many cell towers can be seen by the mobile. The GPS will get you within ten metres :)
