Hi all.. new to the forum.. think it's GREEEEAT BTW!! :D

Had my 206CC for a whole week now and it's wonderful apart from the random rattles, knocks and sqeaks!

Anyway.. after reading most of the posts on here I guess I need to try and pad out this engine cover before I decide that I have a manifold problem :(

I remember there being a couple of posts about various ways to achieve this 'padding' but what is the best / easiest / cheapest way??

For info: I have a 2003 03 plate 2.0lt Black / Silver in Silver with the red & black leather.. and it's sexy as hell!! :D

Thanks in advance! Hazel

suppose you could remove the cover altogether, then go for a little test drive to see if it still rattles b4 trying to pad it out ?

OK.. thanks for the replies, and I did check the engine cover and guess what.. it wasn't that! I took it to the garage and they said my catalytic converter had broken up and is rattling around inside my exhaust.. not bad for a car I've only had a couple of days and was supposed to have had a 70 million point PDI check and full service before being sold to me!

OK.. I need some help here... the garage replaced the exhaust and the cat (at their cost!) but now I have a nasty exhaust pipe that only fills half the cut out hole in the bumper for it and it's STILL making the rattling / blowing noise!!!!!!

I'm quite sure the exhaust pipe didn't look that stupid before.. what does everyone elses look like??

..and what else could this rattle be.. it's driving me nuts!!!!!!!!

could be the manifold that's at fault :?

the normal exhaust ends are a round one for the 1.6 and a oval one for the 2.0 :)
