Another roof one

New to the forum, so hello to all.

Have just made a post, but realised should perhaps have been in here.... Oh dear, dont know how to navigate here yet. My partner always says we females have a problem with navigating, usually referring to maps that is. Always says if we had a turntable we would be OK, as we are constantly turning the map upside down apparently!!! Cant recall ever doing that though!

Anyway. Anothe roof problem:
Love my new car. I have an 04 2L in Aegean. Wanted a 307CC but could not run to the extra 1500. Love the wind in my hair, and the sense of freedom having the top down gives. But, wish I had read all of this in here before I got it!

The roof is driving me mad! Want nothing more than to go topless in this brilliant weather. Particularly love it just as the sun is going down, poodling along the nearby coast of the Wirral or on recent jaunts to the Lakes, fabulous. Other than the worry of the roof closing, it goes like a dream!!

Was fine for first two weeks, now cant trust it to open, but as mentioned, worse, cant trust it to close. Took to dealer Wednesday, was told the problems was leaking hydraulic fluid, but they had to 'order' some in! (Dont know if I am being fobbed off here, as surely must hold hydraulic fluid?) Although no signs of a leak, would have seen traces somewhere if leaking would'nt I...? Thinking really probably needs a new pump and they dont want to have to install one. (as sounds more probable after reading some of the posts in here.) So feeling it is more like: "eh up, silly female fob off time, tell her any old rubbish, as we havent got time, or dont really want to run to accounting for the cost of new pump".

Anyway have been told by dealer they will call me early next week when they receive their order? Not too impressed with the dealer up to now, as apart from all above I am due to take annual holidays week after next, so expressed urgency. I know sound cynical, but have nearly been a victim of garage con men on so many occasions I cant help it. Trying to be positive and optimistic and trusting and all of that...... We will see.
Is also because I hate not being able to drive off in to the sunset, topless, is what owning a cab is all about.

does the roof make any beeping noises when you open or close ?

when mine sprung a little leak it was dripping near the bootlock so was collecting in the gutter near the rubber seal if that makes sense :s

Yes, all the usual beeps. Upon opening it's first four inches, it needs a push, then in the main that is it (up to now, although I am scared to open it now, in case it does not close. But, mainly problems on closing. Usual beeps when opening the boot part (ready to close), it beeps, so press again, it will move a couple of inches, then beep, press again, and so on and so on. It has eventually closed, but as mentioned only a matter of time before it packs in altogether maybe. Still have not heard from the dealer whether they have more stock of the fluid they reckon it needs, so will ring if not heard Tuesday.
