........when I was tearing my hair out with my squeaky brakes. My local dealer had it back twice - dont know what they did but they stopped squeaking for about a day each time. They told me if I wanted it 'fixing' again I would have to pay for it as they couldnt do it for free again.
A couple of months ago a salesman from the same dealer rang me (obviously off their database as having a vehicle nearly 3 years old) asking if I was considering changing my 206cc coz they had some good deals. Poor chap caught me after a particularly embarrassing squeaky brake day and I basically told him that if he wanted my car, he could have it for nothing and I'd never ever consider a Peugeot again and then I proceeded to tell him in no uncertain terms just how much I hated driving my car with people staring at me whenever I applied the brakes. He told me to bring the car down as he was "sure they could do something with them", so down I went again, left the car with them, expecting the same old one day relief. But RESULT - two months on and there is no peep from them - what a joy to drive. I had no idea what they did to them, but now having spent the evening looking thru this forum (yeah I do have a life, but not tonight!), I've got more of an idea.
I had thought I was the one and only 206cc owner to have this problem but if I had come in here earlier I'd have spared myself a good 18 months of misery.............................and now I see that I am not the only one to have the 'clonking brake noise' under the bonnet either! I feel a visit to the Peugeot garage will be taking place on Monday...watch out guys!!
Daft I know, but I'll certainly sleep better tonight.
Oh and to those who have read down this far, sorry to bang on ..............
