Hi
I am new member but on my 2nd 206cc. 1st was an early trouble free SE 2nd is a new Allure and we have had a few problems
The rear wing got badly dented by a Galaxy. It has been in for repair thro Churchill but I rejected the repair. I had been keen on a panel replacement as IMHO the dent was too complex to pull. Still we did it the assessors way and in sunlight it looks appalling with 4 or 5 creases evident. I have been told this is due to the lacquer but anyone with a basic knowledge of metal working would disagree. Still refusing to replace panel. Has anyone any experience of this panel being replaced and was the repair good.
I wish to add this is not a Peugeot garage doing the repair but the insurers nominated repairer.

Anyone experience of a rear panel replacement??

Thanks for that. The original dent was a whoppa and as anyone knows it is very difficult to remove completely the sharp dent edges-the metal is stretched. Maybe its a complication of the colour which accentuates the defect but I know one thing I would not buy the car 2nd hand/pay asking price.
Of course the assessor was very canny with my wife taking sharp intakes of breath about the difficulty in replacing panels (seams and welds) and how they never go back on the same..........I think had more to do with only wanting to pay for 5 hrs work on the car.
If you think Peugeot repairers are bad try Ford (7.5 months to replace a bumper lol)

I have had the near side rear panel replaced twice. First time some plank hit me while parking in the space next to me at work. Luckily security spotted it and reported it to me as the guy who did it moved his car and denied all knowledge untill the cctv footage was shown to him.
Second time was about two months ago when some dip s*it decided to go straight on in a left only lane at a roundabout and ran into the back wing.
In both cases the car was repaired through Sunwin Peugeot. The back quarter was replaced both imes and the paint job was absolutley A1.
IMHO it is easier to replace the panel and respray than it is to pull, fill, and respray a damaged panel because it is a straight bolt off bolt on job on a convertible.
On a standard car the rear piller has to be cut and then rewelded with the new panel. In this case it becomes cheaper and easier to repair the panal.
It depends on your insurance company how much guarantee they offer, but I would conplain untill they do something as they organised for the work to be in the first place.
