I don't know if any of you have been unfortunate enough to have a smash in your 206cc but I experienced this last night.

I hit a wall head on at 55mph and spun round and hit the side of the car too.

My whole point in telling you all this is that even though I've completely written my car off I've walked away from it without a scratch or a bruise. The police said, that from looking at the car from the outside I should be dead or at least in hospital with several broken bones. So the safety features on these cars are truly amazing! Sitting in the inside you wouldn't know that it had been involved in a very serious smash.

You're all driving a VERY safe car.

WELL DONE PEUGEOT!!

My CC was t-boned by an uninsured driver in March at about 30mph.

Result was 1 totalled passanger door (bent side impact bars far enough to damage the interior trim) and some superficial damage to the surrounding area. Reapaired in 3 days by Insurance company....

It did take 10 months to get a claim through the Motor Insurance Bureau and get my NCB re-instated but i walked away with mild whiplash injuries probably caused by the low seat belt mounting, but to be fair that was about it...

Good thing about most walls is that they collapse - meaing you don't stop all of a sudden, more of a gentle (ish!!) stop. Much better to hit a wall than a tree!!

Sorry to hear about the crash and good to hear that you are ok, i have a question for you, what was it like with the pretensioning seat belts, did they pull you back noticeably?

I can honestly say I'm not entirely sure because it all happened so fast but I must say I didn't get thrown forward so I'm guessing they must've worked. My shoulder didn't feel like it'd been pulled back either. I'm very impressed with them anyway. Spoke to Peugeot the other day and they were saying that they haven't have many fatalities in there cars. Don't expect your car to be much to look at if you do happen to crash it, mine's completely written off with £13,500 worth of damage but it saved me. Fingers crossed I'm getting another one in two weeks!

Hope you love yours as much as I loved mine - happy driving!

first of all i'm glad u made it without a scratch ;)

and second i must say that i didnt expect the car to be as safe as u clame! anyway i already had an accident where the ESP should have worked and it didnt! but at least i can now be sure that inspite of that i can always count on the other security mesures! ;)

i hope u have your new car soon! good luck! ;)

Good to hear you're OK. I wouldnt take TOO much notice of the emergency services - all of them always seem to say "you should be dead"!

Not to scare ya - just think of poor old Mr fireman getting beeped at 3am, running the 1/2 mile to the station (got 5 minutes to get there) then having to come out to your car crash. Perfect time for a bit of road safety lecturing! :D

Also, when you see how a relatively minor accident can cause a fatality, anything damaging more than four panels is a potentially worse situation.

By the way, good to hear the cc does stand up fairly well - some people keep telling me that a car crash is how i'll die - hopefully i'll manage to avoid proving them right.  :D
