It was about £1000. That is with eagle star, with 5 yrs protected no claims.

I know it is steep, but I figure that the money I saved by importing should pay for the next few years ins.

It is the best I could find, and I tried tesco, elephant and some others that people have suggested on here previously.

That is for the 2.0lt btw.

Ensleigh are often competitive, and they specialise in young people, especially students. They wouldn't cover me for a 2.0, but if you are looking at the 1.6 might be worth giving them a call,

I am 21 and was 20 when I got my CC.
The insurance I had for the first year was with elephant (Approx £1300) and now I am on my 2nd year of owning a CC, the insurance is with Axa and came down to £750ish with protected no claims!
Shop around it is well worth it!

Wow, Julia you did well. I think I tried axa.

I guess it is because you are female and therefore presumably more level headed, careful and considerate on the road.

Also ins companies don't generally like students. I think they consider us irresponsible and undirected. Given that I have an exam tomorrow and am writing this instead of rivising...I think they might be right. Doh!

Josh you are 100% right there!
(If only they knew the real me!!!) Where did I place my halo?

The majority of companies laughed at me and thought I was joking when I said I wanted to insure the 2.0 CC at 20 years old but I perservered and voila!

Peugeot insurance is a joke. I don't know anyone who has had a decent quote from them. (Someone may prove me wrong) But they quoted me £5000 to insure my CC! Now that is "having a laugh!"

Thanks Robbie,

I'm off now to learn about technological determinism, the advantages of digital over analogue, and even...multiplexing! Who would have thought cc technology would turn up in a broadcasting curriculum?

You think the topics are bad...you should see the lecturer we've had to endure for the last 6 months. now he is snooze inducing! (If I knew how to do a laughing smiley I'd put it here, but I don't so please make do with this)
