Hi,
Im posting for my mate who has a 206cc 04 reg. shes been having mega problems with the accelerator sticking, its happened 4 times( it sticks for 10 seconds).shes taken it back to the garage and has been fobbed off. shes been told its caused by the mats slipping forward..then its not the mats it a fault in the computer..shes written to the garage and the manager is now saying that there is a problem, he said there only been one other reported case of this....has any1 else suffered from this or any ideas what she can do next???? she doesnt feel safe driving the car anymore.
any help would be ace!! :D

That's a good excuse if you get stopped for speeding ;)

Seriously though, not heard of that problem. Due to the seriousness of the problem I suggest she gets serious with the garage - park the car outside the gates and leave the keys. Refuse to move it until it's sorted!

i neva thought of that..i might try that if i get stopped
shes been in touch with peugeot this afternoon and spoken to the general manager and said that she wants a new car, same kind but just one that isnt trying to kill her. hes agreed that it hasnt been dealt with very well and will look in 2 it, think they said they will let her know within 24 hours what will happen......
If u do hear of any similar cases cud u let me know, cheers

My 206cc is now in the garage for throttle being stuck to the floor. It's happened twice now on the motorway. Very scarey. Then it suddently releases. They tried telling me it was the mats too however, when I told them I tried lifting the throttle with my foot underneath it - they couldn't answer that. This is my second 206cc - the first one was so bad Peaugot gave me a new one.

The garage has now had my 206cc for 4 weeks because of the sticking throttle. And it isn't mats. Aparently I need a new clutch. Thought what the clutch has to do with the throttle baffles me slightly. The car is just under 2 years old and is a replacement for my car which was so bad it was carried off on a low-loader. A Friday 4.00 p.m. let's have a party at the pug factory car.

The throttle won't get stuck to the floor because of the clutch. There is no connection between them except that the pedals will pivot on the same bar. A new clutch is not the cure for a sticking throttle.

ok here we go good people
this is the gospel according to this mechanic just joined as g/f has bought a tasty 206cc se and its just like my 406 coupe in oh so many ways if the stcking throttle is on a 2.0 then it is the 10j4 engine whick are "fly by wire" meaning no cable its a circuit linked to a vacum so dont let ur garage fill u full of shat tell em u want the fly by wire checked

the engine is an ew10 2.0. yes SOME are flybywire with motorized throttle body as are the 1.6 16 valve.
they are both controlled on the can network via the engine managment ecu. there is NO vaccum involvment in the system to operate throttle.
the throttle pedal has a variable voltage resistor built in .depending on the voltage coming out the throttle pedal is directly relivant to how much throttle the ecu tells the throttle body to do.
the system is auto adaptive ,which means its intelligant,it learns ands remembers your driving syle.as are al4 auto boxes.
if its sticking down.(have had a few)replace it.tis a plug and play thingy.
hope this clears up a few misunderstandings.

All reap is saying is unplug the faulty variable resistor from the accelerator pedal and replace it with a new one. It is a known problem.

(I do agree though that his style of grammar is quirky).

Useful guy to have on the forum though......knows his stuff!

sorry for qiurkyness
keep forgetting when typing that people may not understand what the hell im talking about.
sticky throttle is common.tis eletronically controlled by ecu.
there is deffo no vacumm involved in this prosses
and tis a plug and play so doesnt need to learnt to the car. :D
cant make it any simpler than that :D

one day when you all good im going to teach you about multiplexing signal speeds on the van and can networks..and how the bsi controls all the other ecus and and goes to sleep during power latch and why.

if you interested?
