I have 2001 model cc and my cd player does not work at all. When i put a disc it ejects it after a few seconds like it is not a audio cd. Can those player cleaners handle this problem or should i take it to repair? What part is making this error?

If anyone had this problem before please help. Thanks a lot!

Try to use those player cleaners, but sounds like it's broken, if it doesn't read any cd at all
I moved this to I.C.E-section if it helps to get right answers.

I had the same problem, some CDs played, some didnt, so I just put a new JVC stereo in, the nice new one with touch sreen operation. It was one of those things that just wouldnt happen when Pug chaps tested it, yet always, soon as I drove away and changed the CD, it spat it back out at me. They mentioned that it could be the disc itself cos of the laser that reads it and also the thickness of theCD as they do vary by tiny amounts. Load of crap though that is cos sometimes it played the CD, sometimes it didnt, was so random that nothing could be pinpointed by Pug.

I have the problem where it sometimes kicks in straight away and not others. However I have noticed that this is usually only with CD-R's, original CD's play fine first time every time. Sometimes if the CD is converted back to CDA format from MP3 the problem is worse (not sure if it's the way Nero converts it back).

If you buy a second hand replacement for your CC, check that it will work - I think the headunits in the multiplex CCs are coded to work only for one particular car.
