I got some of those...they're OK apart from the black seals look naff.
What do you get seals wise from ecosse or Pug dealer? Me thinks might change them if something better is around (but not paying Pug price!)

I bought a set on ebay a couple of weeks ago, and was wondering where the seals were. Anyway fitted them as they came and they look good so am not too bothered.
I looked at the hoops advetised on ebay a few times but couldn't work out how to pay for them as they only dealt with Wire or direct debit.
The ones in the link should be no problem as they take Pay-Pal.

We (that'll be Rick then!) did trim the seals down as they were quite big, but without them there was a small gap between the hoop front and the shelf.
It's one of those niggly things..no-one else notices. I do wonder though if they meet a safety regulation as they are primarily there for roll-over protection.

There is no way that they're there for rollover protection. They're only fasted into the bodywork with little nuts. Proper rollover bars have to be bolted (with big nuts) to something strong -- in a monocoque car I guess bulkhead, top of the suspension mounts, one of the crossmembers, etc. It's easy with a chassis/body car -- the only option is to mount to the chassis somewhere.I do wonder though if they meet a safety regulation as they are primarily there for roll-over protection.

I'm well misguided on this roll over hoop lark then.
Thanks Nobby and Carl for putting me straight.
What are they there for then? To look nice?
Whilst I have no plans to roll any car, would there be no protection for rear seat passengers in the event that happened?
Thanx

Yep, they're to look nice. The windscreen pillars are reinforced (in fact, I've seen a cutaway diagram that makes the windscreen pillars look like part of a roll cage, which is good) so I guess the geometry of the car is such that upside-down it rests on the windscreen and the bootlid. Ergo, the rear-seat passengers should be OK. I would not suggest that anyone tries this out thoughWhilst I have no plans to roll any car, would there be no protection for rear seat passengers in the event that happened?
"Proper" roll hoops/roll bars/roll cages are for where the windscreen can't take the weight. For example, look at an AC Cobra where the hoops sit right behind the driver and passenger. The idea is that if you roll it and the windscreen collapses, the roll hoops will keep your head off the ground

Thanks Carl. Now I know where I got roll hoops for protection from...it was from a friend who builds kit cars and a conversation about the roll over hoops protection that was on one of them. I just assumed....
You learn something new everyday! And that's a good thing IMO

They do look better trimmed down as without trimming they didn't look right....

the 307CC has roll-over hoops that only pop up when the car rolls over - how are u supposed to make sure they are there if u can't see them ?
imagine rolling over and looking back to say looks like the monkeys forgot to fit the hoops

I did mine d/d to the company's bank account. A bit messy and was still risky...and they did take weeks and weeks and weeks....I went to buy some hoops on EBay - description stated that they took PayPal but as I had had probs in the past buying stuff from Germany using PayPal I messaged them just to check. They said they didnt take PayPal so I didnt bother bidding. A set went on there yesterday for about £38!!!

Hence I didn't recommend the purchaser on here. But they were cheap.
