My 206cc has started to do funny things, I washed the car and jet washed it as I have done many times, only this time when i went to lock the car it beeped at me, as with other car alarms it beeped to confirm i had locked it. Nothing funny about this you may say but it has never done it before. Then when I go to turn on the ignition I get the picture of a car with all the doors shut and a loud beep. The engine starts the display goes to the radio and all is well. Sometimes it beeps and the picture of the car comes up during the journey sometimes not. Also the alarms goes off on its own for no reason when the car is on the drive. I have never had a problem with the car since i bought it 1 year ago. any help would be grateful.

P.S Great site...

I think your CC wants to tell you it loves you!!

Seriously I think you have a faulty BSI, take it back to your dealer.

the single beep you get when you lock the car(which you didnt have before)indicates to me that the alarm isnt working or its not deadlocking.uasual fault is micro switch on the bonnet catch gone open cuircuit or a faullty door actuator.

Bonnet switch gone open circuit??

Does this mean the bonnet could be open??!! Mine usually does this if i've left it open.

On the display, is the bonnet or boot coloured in orange? That indicates if the car thinks the boot or bonnet is open.

As others have said, it's likely to be a faulty switch on the bonnet or boot.

the micro switch on the bonnet breakes off its mounting,so bonnet mec doesent touch it so it assumes the bonnet is open even though it is closed, hence alarm thinks bonnet is open so gives a single beep to say the car is not arming/deadlocking.
(open cuicuit)no live/earth feed to it. :D

Hi - Can anyone help with a question on the multi-function display?
When I scroll through the options I get the word "out" appearing when I select either "Radio" or "CDC". Does anyone know what this means? I also cant find the MPG setting or the one which shows a picture of the car.
Haven't had my CC long. Am I just being dense??

Thanks

the 'out' means theres either no stereo or cd changer, if they are there then maybe they aren't connected, what year is your CC as some of the early models didn't have a mpg/trip computer.

Hi lyndon,

It's a 51 plate, registered 2002. I think you're right - mine doesn't have a mpg display. I finally assumed that after driving myself insane all day trying to fathom why it wouldnt work. Simple answer - because it doesnt have one!
It does have a stereo but not a changer by the way. If I connect up the stereo will it be shown up on the top display then?

thanks for your advice

yes, if your stereo has output for the display.

and

it could need some adapter.. (some stereos dont need with peugeot, e.g. clarion i think...)
